A wikicircles wiki starts with one person who knows a hobby well enough to seed it and cares enough to tend it early on. If that's you, create it here — it takes about a minute, and no one has to approve it.
What makes a good wiki topic
- A real hobby with practitioners — something people buy gear for, argue about, and get better at over time.
- Not already covered — check the directory first; if a close wiki already exists, contribute there instead.
- Broader than a single product — "espresso" works; "the Gaggia Classic" is a page, not a wiki.
Create your wiki
You'll need to be signed in. That's the only requirement.
Enter the subdomain you want — 2–30 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Enter espresso and your wiki lives at espresso.wikicircles.org:
Fill in the topic and a sentence about what it covers, then save. A few names are reserved (www, meta, api and similar), and you can create up to three wikis per account.
What happens next
Your wiki is built automatically, usually within about half a minute of saving. When it's ready the subdomain starts working and you're already its administrator — you can edit immediately, with no membership step and no email confirmation.
Seeded with a starter skeleton, it's yours to shape: rewrite the front page, delete what doesn't fit, and start filling in what you know. You keep full editorial control.
