What makes a good wiki topic

A real hobby with practitioners — something people buy gear for, argue

 about, and get better at over time.

Not already covered — check the directory

 first; if a close wiki already exists, contribute there instead.

Broader than a single product — "espresso" works; "the Gaggia Classic"

 is a page, not a wiki.

New wikis are set up by hand for now, so there's a real person in the loop rather than instant self-service. Expect a reply on your talk page or in the relevant community. Once it's live, you keep full editorial control of your wiki.
