Getting started

Everything you need to go from "just visiting" to contributing on any wikicircles wiki.
1. Create your account
Click Log in (top right) → create an account. You only do this once — the same account works on every wiki in the family, and your username is reserved everywhere, so no one can take it on another wiki.
2. Read anywhere
Signed in or not, you can read every wiki — nothing to join just to look around. Browse the directory and dive in.
3. Join a wiki to edit it
Editing is per wiki, on purpose: you opt into the communities you actually want to contribute to. On the wiki you want to edit, use its Contribute link (or visit Special:UserRights on that wiki and add yourself to the member group). That grants you editing on that wiki only — joining the espresso wiki doesn't sign you up to edit the birding wiki.
4. Make your first edit
- Click Edit at the top of any page (or "create" on a red link).
- Wikitext basics: ''italic'', '''bold''',
== headings ==, * bullets, and [[Page name]] to link another page.
- Save — there's no approval queue.
Why editing is per-wiki
Each wiki is its own community with its own norms. Keeping edit rights local means a wiki's contributors are people who chose to be there, which keeps quality up and spam down. See Community guidelines for the rest.
